My response to "This B***h Is Alive" video and those who wrongfully accused me...

"Tasteless, vulgar and on the border of pornography. I wish people who make video's like this thought three times about the gay youth who is searching for gay role models and strong values that brake stereotypes about gay life. This video not only confirms stereotypes that circle around about gays but also may be offensive to women, who are very sensitive hearing the "bitch" word regardless of what was the intention of its use in this cheap entertainment."

I have been accused lately that I am not supportive of gay community and that gender nonconformity upsets me only because as "homo sapiens" who is free and entitled to his own opinion, likes and dislikes, I voiced my rather negative opinion (see above) about a video that has been released recently on YouTube with a very controversial content and an offensive to me title "This B***h Is Alive".

I do not have to like everything that is being produced by gay media in order to show my support for the community. Also, I have absolutely no problem with gender nonconformity! I have been supporting gays and gay community rather anonymously because it is not in my character nor my habit and behavior to do things and then seeking a praise for it. But since apparently I am now being scrutinized by certain people and charged with allegations as being "anti-gay" as well as challenged to divulge my support and activity for gay cause - here it comes:

1. I have been participating in AIDS Walks,
2. I have been sending donation to the AIDS Research Foundation
3. When Haiti was stricken with the most deadly earthquake couple years ago, I sent donation to the Haitian LGBT organization.
4. I co-founded "The Love Prizm Foundation", which is all about helping and empowering gay youth with the emphasis on gays coming from disadvantaged environments and abusive homes.
5. I even disinterestedly opened my home to the homeless gay men...

Should I continue? If only these few things listed above do not account for as an active supporter of the gay community then I don't know what is or should be.

I am not a prude or a hypocrite, however I believe that everything has its place. I don't condone use of "bit*h" word in gangsta rap and the same goes for its use in gay community since it is highly offensive epithet to women or "women-like" and diminishing female role in our society. Entertainment - gay or not - especially from night clubs should stay there - just like the popular proverb proclaims: "What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas". I believe that certain things just should be kept private, or at least marked with ratings such as "R" to protect children and teens from suggestive sexually explicit themes.

Because of my convictions I am now labeled as "boring" and "old school" and that's fine. What is very frustrating to me is the fact that I have been fighting the "gay stereotype" for the past 20 years in this country and I really feel unjustly placed in a category of a "gay public enemy #1" only because my intentions not only have not been noticed but mostly - if noticed - misunderstood.

I have been advocating safety for gay youth for a very long time, whether from explicit exposure or homophobes who bully, abuse and even kill innocent gay teenagers. I am not asking everyone to agree with me since we are free human beings entitled to different opinions but I wish people saw what I stand for and at least try to understood my reaction to the video and where I come from.

If inadvertently I hurt anyone's feelings with my initial comment on YouTube, please accept my apology.

Thank you.

With love --
